You can now discover the new features of the latest version of the Bold app. Join our excitement as you explore the innovations introduced by the recent Bold release. Many adjustments have been made, for example, simplifying the sharing of user invitations, monitoring active sessions, securing PIN codes, and more. Rest assured, we will break everything down in simple terms to ensure you understand the newest features.
Inviting new users is now even easier
The main app change is sharing user invitations with family, friends, and acquaintances. We have removed phone numbers and SMS from the app, based on the feedback that we have received from many users on the challenges this could bring. As a result, we made sharing user invitations much easier. From now on, you can share an invitation either through a QR code or by simply using your phone-provided sharing option. Good to know: Users already added to one of your locks can be found under ‘suggestions’.
Below is a short step-by-step plan.
Monitoring active sessions
You can now use a brand-new Bold feature: active sessions. This feature displays all sessions where you are currently logged in, allowing you to log out of specific sessions if needed. You can easily see which different devices are linked to your account, putting you in full control. The active-session list displays a single 'Bold app' session, but it can also show multiple portal sessions or integrations, such as the integration with Homey for example.
This is where you can find this new feature:
Securing your PIN codes
For the safety of your home, we discontinue storing PIN codes. This means that after creating a PIN code, the code itself is not viewable in the app anymore. This precaution is in line with SKG standards to prevent unauthorised access. So just like you remember your bank pass code, you will need to memorise the PIN code. If necessary, you can always create a new PIN. With a Bold Connect, this is even possible remotely.
Smart and easy: automatically setting your location for auto-activation
In this update of the Bold app, we have simplified the location settings for your Bold Smart Lock. Now, only one location is needed for both auto-activation and manual operations. This means you no longer have to set your location for auto-activation separately. The app automatically determines your location when you activate the lock via Bluetooth.
