Which smart home platforms work with Bold?
Bold works with Google Home, Homey and Matter (Bold Elite only), which includes Apple Home. Community-built integrations such as Home Assistant and Homebridge are also available.
Which Bold lock works with Matter?
Matter is available on Bold Elite only. Bold Elite is certified for Matter 1.4 and Thread 1.4.
What do I need to use Matter?
A Bold Elite with the latest firmware and a Thread Border Router at home (for example a Google Nest Hub (2nd generation) or an Apple HomePod mini).
Does Matter still work when the internet goes down?
Yes. Matter uses local control, so your lock stays responsive even when your internet connection is offline.
Do I need a Bold Connect for Google Home?
Yes. The Google Home integration requires a Bold Connect, which brings your lock online. To unlock with your voice, you set a pin code in the Bold app.
How do I connect Bold Elite to Matter?
Tap the Matter option in the Bold app to show your QR code. Hold the button on your lock for 10 seconds until the LED flashes purple, then scan the code in your smart home app.
